How to Make Thomas the Train Cupcakes By Jennifer Hayden: Thomas the Train cupcakes are inexpensive to make at home. Many toddler boys are fans of Thomas the Train. It has become a popular party theme for young children, but there is not a lot of creative instruction readily available about how to make Thomas the Train cupcakes for your little one's Thomas party. With a few inexpensive materials, you can make Thomas the Train cupcakes that will please your toddler and impress your party guests. Things You'll Need: Cupcake liners, Brown food coloring, Knife or icing spatula, Licorice strips, Thomas the Train cake topper. 1. Bake one dozen cupcakes in cupcake liners. 2. Use food coloring to tint the icing brown. 3. Spread the icing on each cupcake using a knife or an icing spatula. 4. Place licorice strips in train-track fashion on the top of the cupcake. There should be two long, parallel strips and two shorter licorice strips that are perpendicular and contained within the longer strips. 5. Place a Thomas the Train cake topper on the top of each train track.
This one is "banana split" flavor inside. I airbrushed the clouds and trees a little for dimension. The trains are bathtub toys -- again, because they're a copyrighted character.
