Streisand, 1965 -- She was truly the finest and LAST true BROADWAY STAR. Yes Broadway got Disneyfied and didn't end, but the glory days, ended with Streisand. (like Vaudeville ending & going into silent film - that dramatic. )

b. 17 March 1938: RUDOLF NUREYEV (d. 1993), Russian-born ballet dancer who defected to the West in 1961; one of the most celebrated dancers of the 20th century
Rudolf Khametovich Nureyev (1938 – 1993) was a dancer of ballet and modern dance, one of the most celebrated of the 20th century. Nureyev's artistic skills explored expressive areas of the dance, providing a new role to the male ballet dancer who once served only as support to the women. Originally a Soviet citizen, Nureyev defected to the West in 1961, despite KGB efforts to stop him. According to KGB archives an order was signed to have Nureyev killed.

Girls Mod Pantdress - 1967 McCalls Pattern - I got sent to the principals office for wearing this to school in 1970 (5th grade) because they felt I was wearing Culottes which were specifically forboden. My mother actually came down to the school with the pattern to show them it was a pantdress!
