I know that these are the "average retention rates" but everyone's learning style is so different. I always wander if teachers keep this in mind or teach based on what method works best for them or they prefer?

Differentiated Instruction: What is it? This is a great article about the multiple intelligences and how they need to be considered for differentiated instruction
Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences wheel, could potentially be an interesting teaching tool
Howard Gardner has been referred to as one of the leader’s in determining how people learn. He originally classified seven categories of learning styles and added an eighth category at a later date. The eight multiple intelligences are linguistic-verbal, musical, mathematical, spatial-visual, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist. It may appear daunting to meet the needs of all, but it's not impossible.
Multiple Intelligences Graphic-An educational theorist and brain researcher who has had a huge impact on teaching practice is Howard Gardner. Gardner postulates that there are many different kinds of intelligence, and that we all possess them in varying degrees. These “different ways to be smart” represent ways of looking at the world that can become doorways to understanding when teachers consciously include differentiated learning strategies in the classroom.
If a student does not excel in one of the school subjects, that does not mean they are not intelligent. A student is intelligent in one of these 8 different multiple intelligences. Studied the idea of the 7 intelligences: verbal, visual, physical, mathematical, introspective, intraspective, and spatial. This web link provides information about the importance of teaching for multiple different learning styles. http://www.cteresource.org/featured/differentiated_instruction.html

I like this pin because attachment theory is important to the role as a CCLS. It really helps you understand how to communicate with a child if you can understand their attachment style.
We have attachment styles our whole lives, based upon our experiences in our most important relationships. First, we attach to our parents, later, we attach to our lovers. Understanding your attachment style helps. Attachment theory, first articulated by John Bowlby in the 1940s and expanded on by Mary Ainsworth in the 1960s and 1970s.
Understanding attachment theory, Autism Spectrum Disorder #pacerCenter #childDevelopment #littleSonder
Attachment Theory. Why is attachment theory so important? It it important because it is an early indicator of future behaviour/personality and relationship formation and maintenance. There is a STRONG correlation with attachment theory and behaviour but it is not 100% perfect. Those with negative attachment style are more likely to be unable to form healthy, long lasting relationships with others when they are older.
Understanding attachment theory, Autism Spectrum Disorder - There has been a lot of back and forth about the merit of attachment parenting, a style of parenting that emphasizes the importance of a secure and close relationship between the parent and child. It seems like there is value in understanding the fundamentals of attachment theory, first articulated by John Bowlby in the 1940s and expanded on by Mary Ainsworth in the 1960s and 1970s.

It's not just children with learning disabilities. Anxiety disorders can happen to anyone.
Observation 1: Physical Development. Here we have a pin discussing child anxiety and what it may look like. Lilo actually shows some of these traits. She is often in her room in the movie or at one point has even nailed up the house and told her sister to "leave her there to die". Socializing with children her age is typically hard for her. This type of behavior could reflect an anxiety disorder or depression. These things could stunt her physical and cognitive development as she gets older.
