These are great Mysteries from the Best Mystery Writer of all time! A bit dated hairstyles and clothingwise...and they are great anyway. Hurrah BBC!

P.D. James Collection Featuring Scotland Yard's Commander Adam Dalgliesh P.D. James is a great mystery writer and the screen adaptations based on her writings are wonderful. I especially like the stories featuring Commander Adam Dalgliesh when played by Roy Marsden. Adam Dalgliesh is an extremely competent detective who is also a brooding widower and poet. The intriguing stories accented by Dalgliesh's personal struggle make these very interesting to watch.

P.D. James: Devices and Desires (1991) Roy Marsden stars as Scotland Yard sleuth Adam Dalgliesh in this epic miniseries based on the popular mystery novel by P.D. James, a tale that also features a brief appearance by a young Kate Beckinsale. After inheriting a seaside cottage from his aunt, Dalgliesh escapes the city for a little R, only to find himself neck-deep in a string of serial killings. Can he expose the killer before his vacation is completely ruined?

P.D. James: A Taste for Death (1988) Comm. Dalgliesh (Roy Marsden) just finished getting Scotland Yard's Sensitive Crime Squad up and running when he's buttonholed to investigate the mysterious and deadly world that lurks behind Government Minister Sir Paul Berowne's (Bosco Hogan) seemingly respectable façade. Adapted from author P.D. James's best-selling whodunit, this miniseries features the popular gumshoe from many of James's novels.
