"Bridget Jones's Diary". Where to begin? I have no idea; this movie is just the real deal. It's sweet and warm and funny and relateable and original... It set the barre for all romantic movies and portrayals of modern day women and their love-life-struggles to come. But even today, twelve years later, I find that very few films can join the Holy club of excellence where you find "Bridget Jones's Diary". <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Bridget Jones's Diary is a cute little comedy starring Renée Zellweger forced to decide between the suave Hugh Grant, who is wrong for her and Mr. right, Colin Firth. This movie is adapted from a best selling novel and the acting is top notch as well as the story line. Zellweger gained weight to play this part and was rewarded with an Oscar nomination. Must watch movie.
For the same sharp one-liners and sometimes darkly comic scenes, dive into Cause Celeb — the debut novel of Bridget Jones's Diary author Helen Fielding. With the story of a 20-something literary publicist who ditches London to run an African refugee camp, the book offers insights into obsessive celebrity culture and flawed charity efforts.
Renée Zelwegger in Bridget Jones Diary. Colin firth being young and dashing, Renee being foolish and a reflection of some dimension of yourself, comedic relief and great romance story - what's not to love. Definitely the ultimate go to feel good movie :)
Helen Fielding created a heroine we adore with her sharp and witty novel Bridget Jones's Diary. It's a funny, irreverent, and charming read that any woman who's felt like a complete disaster when it comes to relationships will relate to. Love quote: "Can officially confirm that the way to a man's heart these days is not through beauty, food, sex, or alluringness of character, but merely the ability to seem not very interested in him."
