Here's a little trick using charm squares. Some of you might have seen this before. We all need a refresher now and again...right...LOL. Take 9 charms squares (5") and layout same way you would for a 9-patch. Did you see that designer rotary cutter??? When I saw this on Nicole's blog I was just so taken by what a neat idea Olfa has finally come out with something pretty...I just had to have one.

carpenters square quilt pattern - I am thinking as one big quilt rather than 1 block.  If you used 4" strips it would come out to 52.5 inches square.  Or 3.5" strips would come out 45" square.  Good sizes for baby or lap quilts.
