Hoya, or wax plant, has waxy green leaves and waxy fragrant pink flowers. You can let the plant climb, train the stems onto a topiary, or allow them to trail in a hanging basket. Wax plant offers beautiful flowers (that are often powerfully fragrant). It's also a low-water plant, so it doesn't mind if you forget to water it from time to time. Medium to bright light; 55-75 degrees F.; allow the soil surface to dry between waterings Can climb or trail to 4 feet or more
Golden Japanese Yew (Taxus cuspidata) - "Lush foliage all year long. Lush evergreen. Handsome winter or summer with its short, waxy needles and orange berries in late summer. reaches a mature 10- to 20-foot height. Slips to a neatly manicured 2--3 feet. Thrives in sun or shade. Zones 4--7."
One side of the porch with the new burlap curtain. Topiary made from tomato cages and fiberglass pots from Lowe's. Artificial ivy and boxwood from Save On Crafts. This weekend we will drill holes in the pots for drainage, fill with potting soil and REAL flowers and plants in the bottom. They look silly right now :) Cart came with house (kitchen!). Now used as a potting station and to hold pretty things!
