I like this idea as an in class way to help students learn their spelling words. This will not only help them to spell them but also learn the meaning of them. The only thing I dislike like about this is that it asks for an antonym and synonym when all words may not have a direct opposite or mean the same as another word.

Roll-a-Word spelling practice. This would be good for my Phonics for Reading word wall, via I Love 2 Teach

E is for Explore! Vocabulary Roll--take vocab words out of a hat, roll the dice and then act the word, draw it, define it, rhyme something with it, or give a synonym/antonym for it. Fun!

word of the day -- Cute way to do it. -- could be done eaily for older students in a shorter period of ties at the beginning of the day.

rainbow writing (did something similar to this with the alphabet when one of my nanny charges were in kindergarten --- except they picked the color traced the letter 3 times, said the letter name and sound(s), repeated with at least 4 other colors), so I love this for learning spelling words. Could make writing them so much more fun and exciting.

I use this at my writing station for Daily 5. The kids love it! Roll a Story great for teaching how to make interesting elements in a story. Love this for those kids who are stuck on what to write about!

Free! Back to School Roll & Label vocab! Students will use dice for this activity.-Roll it.-Match the number on the dice to the picture

Recommended: K-2 This math game practices adding three numbers together. Directions: Roll 3 dice. Add the numbers together. Cover the sum on the game board. I also like to make black & white copies, let the students partner up and they COLOR IN the sums. Early finishers can finish coloring the picture.
