As part of her quest to honor her son's last request, Susan Heard, of Easton, had her head shaved today at the St. Baldrick's Shave for the Brave fundraiser.

The Community Board of The Cancer Support Center held their first ever best pizza contest  at the New Lenox VFW Hall, with 11 participating pizza establishments competing for ‘best’ cheese, sausage, pepperoni, and specialty. The public was invited out to sample pizza and vote for their favorite.The turn-out was tremendous and the pizza delicious. The event brought in over $3800 for The Cancer Support Center.

6th Annual Skate Against Cancer fundraiser was a success!  The Hill School held its most successful Skate Against Cancer event yet, collecting $2,069 in support of the American Cancer Society. Skate Against Cancer is a community affair, where all residents of Pottstown and the surrounding areas are invited to come out for a fun, family-friendly night of ice skating.

A FANCY dress fundraising evening in Wolverley raised £250 for two charities. The Trilogy event was held at Wolverley Social Club and despite the wet weather, organiser Tara Jenks said she was impressed by everyone’s fancy dress efforts. The money was raised for Cancer Research UK and Reaching Out, a Kidderminster-based charity helping elderly people who have had strokes.
