Reading space (for the kids) ***My version...Play Room Reading Nook for the Kids*** {{{How I can do this in my home...}}} I don't have a space as shown in the picture to do this BUT...I have an unused closet space in our play room. **Here's how...** *Create a 'window seat' bench seating area @ bottom of closet. **Will make this a very cozy seating space with cushions, lots of throw pillows & 2 throw blankets; 1 for Jasmine & 1 for Jacob. ***This seating space will be about the size of a toddler bed... ****Will use a crib matress as the 'seat cushion'...just cover with a crib sheet with style/color of choice...will use a flannel material for a cozy feel. **To raise the 'cozy bench' off the ground: Will use large sturdy storage bins (with lids) & simply place the crib matress on top. {This will also allow room for storage under the seat} For the book shelf: The closet already has a shelf for the kids books... **The closet already has lighting...BUT will add some hooks and hang flashlights on them so the kids can turn the light off and read with their flashlights behind the curtain :) Added touches: Hang a Dry-Erase board & Chalk Board on the back wall of the closet. Will anchor decorated storage cans to wall (from another DIY project), one for chalk & one for markers. For the curtain: Get rid of closet doors....Use a shower curtain rod {get the fancy looking ones} and throw on a window curtain or even a fancy shower curtain with pattern/style of choice....Kids will love that they can close the curtain during reading time! Viola!!! Homemade reading nook for the kids!!! I have to admit I am very proud of myself for this idea :)

really nice fit / finish - bar is inside trim with long curtains / grommets - this approach tends to look cleaner, if a more contemporary / simple look is the intent//Another idea for curtains outside my future to be book nook closet if the kids want a bit of privacy.

Reading nook at l’Hotel du Petit Moulin. This wouldn't be that difficult with a pre-existing nook and some fancy molding.

We'd probably keep looking up from our books to take in this breathtaking view... #reading
