Wuerttemberg Mausoleum – Stuttgart, Germany (HDR Vertorama) by Klaus Herrmann. This is a Mausoleum was built on the Württemberg mountain and commissioned by William II of Württemberg for his wife Katharina. The interesting thing is that the King had Wirtemberg Castle removed in 1819 from that very place in order to build this Mausoleum. Obviously he loved his Queen very much. #hdr #vertorama #photography

Basilica St. Martin – Weingarten, Germany (HDR Vertorama) This HDR vertorama was taken in the Basilica St. Martin in Weingarten, Germany. This wonderful church was built between 1715 and 1724. The white interior creates a fantastic light, and when the sun is shining, this place lights up. This is a classical example of a scene that requires HDR. In a normal shot, you could never capture how the sun shines on those pillars without the rest of the shot being hopelessly underexposed.

The Library (HDR Vertorama) On the way to the location of our most recent vacation, we went past Wiblingen Abbey near Ulm in southern Germany. This abbey is renowned for its great library. Having seen some images of this library, I knew that this would be a great place for shooting vertoramas. And here it is.

When you are taking photos outdoors, the rule says that you should not do so in the middle of the day. The light is harsh and not very flattering for your subjects. This 12-shot HDR Vertorama image taken in the Basilica St. Lorenz in Kempten, Germany is a good example where photographing around noon is actually a good thing. In this case, the sun was shining through the window and on the floor. It was reflected on the pillars and the other objects in the church. This created a special lighting.

The Hundertwasser tower, designed by Austrian Friedensreich Hundertwasser, was built in Abensberg, south Germany, 10 years after his death. The tower is 35 meters high and 6 meters is diameter, twice smaller than the original project of the architect. A wonderful view of the town opens from the upper site of the tower, which has no straight lines.

St. Jodok Church – Ravensburg, Germany (HDR Vertorama) St. Jodok is one of the catholic churches of Ravensburg in southern Germany. What I find most remarkable about his church is the composition of colors. The bright white of the walls, the wooden tones and the turquoise/red colors of the organ are quite unique, I think.
