Riva Ridge (1969–85) Thoroughbred racehorse, winner of the 1972 KY Derby & Belmont Stakes. A son of First Landing out of Iberia (by Heliopolis), he was owned & bred by the Meadow Stable of Christopher Chenery. Secretariat, the U.S. Triple Crown champion in 1973, was owned and bred by the same. Riva Ridge was retired at the end of the 1973 racing season. He stood at stud on Claiborne Farm in Kentucky for his entire breeding career until he died at age 16 of a heart attack on April 21, 1985.
Take Charge Indy (foaled 27 March 2009) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse. He was regarded as a contender for the Triple Crown races, but an injury sustained in the Kentucky Derby ruled him out for most of the remainder of the season. an injury the following year ended his racing career and his owners, WinStar Farm, retired him to stud.
