Project Runway Judge Nina Garcia's Manhattan Home : Architectural Digest. A Frank chaise longue graces the dressing room, along with a Frank tripod table and a carpet by Tai Ping; the watercolor is by Salvador Dalí.
Design Under the Influence: The Barcelona Chair; Believe it or not, I like this room--the natural wood mantel gives the contemporary a warm side. About the chair: Mies van der Rohe designed the chair as seating for the king and queen of Spain...and the stool for their royal attendants!
If, as Coco Chanel is purported to have said, “Elegance is refusal,” then Mies van der Rohe’s classic 1930 daybed is one of the most superbly elegant pieces of furniture ever made. Today, it looks as timelessly modern as ever in the living-dining room of this Manhattan loft.
