Add 1 cup steel cut oats & toast til brown & fragrant (4 min), tossing and turning oats. Add 4 cups water and salt, then boil. Simmer, cover, & cook til most of water has evaporated and oatmeal is tender, 30 min for steel cut oatmeal & 10 min for old-fashioned rolled oats. Serve hot with stewed fruit & your favorite toppings :)
