Horror writer H.P. Lovecraft died March 15, 1937. We remember him and his works by sleeping with the light on. His last name sounds like a 1970’s space porn.
H. P. LOVECRAFT - (August 20, 1890 – March 15, 1937) Although Lovecraft's readership was limited during his lifetime, his reputation has grown over the decades, and he is now regarded as one of the most influential horror writers of the 20th century. He created a completely new world of horror that is still being represented in film and literature today.

Let's go back in the decades, when one of the most popular, loved and hated italian writer lived following his ideals of beauty and glory.

This 240-Year-Old Robot Was Probably The World's First Computer [w/ VIDEO]: -- If you thought robots were a thing of the future, we have some unsettling news. The first automata was constructed -- get this -- in the 1770s, before our nation declared its independence. The robot, however, doesn't take the shape of a metallic Transformers-type mechanism, but rather a curly haired boy with a velvet coat and a quill. Meet "The Writer."

Designed in the late 1770s this incredible little robot called simply The Writer, was designed and built by Swiss-born watchmaker Pierre Jaquet-Droz with help from his son Henri-Louis, and Jean-Frédéric Leschot.

This boy automata was built 240 years ago, in the late 1770s, by the watchmaker Pierre Jaquet-Droz. The boy was simply called "The Writer." He may look like a toy doll, but his inside is an engineering marvel: 6,000 custom made components that together create a fully self-contained, programmable writing machine.

Seen above is the Writer, an automaton built in the 1770s by world-renowned Swiss watchmaker, Pierre Jaquet-Droz (1721-1790). Made from nearly 6000 parts, the Writer is a self-operating, programmable machine, capable of writing letters and words with a quill pen. The 240-year-old machine is said to be a distant ancestor of the modern-day, programmable computer.
