Drive down to Galveston, about an hour away from Houston, and pick up a Sea Shell Windchime from one of the many cool shops and restaurants. Seashell letters; inspiration for creative ways to use all of those shells that we collect at the beach...you could do letters, spell out words or even do a shape. And why buy letters from the store...use cardboard or some other material to recycle.
Cleaning and restoring colors in seashells...Rinsed in warm water and soak for 24 hours in bleach water. After totally drying, rub each shell with baby oil or with satin varnish to preserve natural color. *Another blog says shells can be soaked a week or more in bleach water if needed.
