Design Sponge/ The rug was a barter from friends of mine for a bottle of whiskey. Probably one of the best exchanges I’ve ever done. The couch was my first “adult” purchase when I started at Businessweek. It’ one of my most prized purchases and NO ONE is allowed to sleep on it. The pillows are from one of my favorite textile designers, Marimekko. The coffee table was made for me by my boyfriend as probably the best Hannuka present of all time. The life drawing is one of mine from freshman year of college. The oil painting is a portrait I painted in 2005 of a friend from Cooper. The black and white drawing was a piece I did for a poster touting a lecture on Proust at Columbia. The two chairs were the product of a lot of interneting and eBay work. The scoop leather chair I was trailing for 5 months before pulling the plug. It’s such a beautiful piece and probably the one I get the most compliments for. The Hans Wagner rope chair I got as an imporomptu purchase when I was out getting olive oil for a dinner party and came across it at an antique store in my neighborhood. I like supporting the local stores and try to buy everything from the smaller businesses including furniture. There are a few great stores on the Court Street and Atlantic Avenue strips.

Daylight and view daytime living room. Use another room with more privacy after dark.

colors + style — brassy sputnik style chandelier, elegant tan sectional, green mid century era side chairs

that's definitely one way to manage a New York apartment! classy, i like it. big art works on those white walls that you don't want to have to paint and then paint back the next year. :)

white + wood Loving this whole room!!! Especially the wood couches so different and funky

The structure of this room is so invigorating. The windows create a great connection between the indoors and outdoors. And I love the eclectic design elements used to transform this space.

love the plant cluster and the light
