Nine months after his election, Obama was named the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
I feel as though Walter would look up to President Obama. This is because Walter was the first African American to move into Clybourne Park (which at the time was all white people) and Barack Obama was the first African American to become president of the United States. Them sharing similar experiences makes me believe that Walter would admire President Obama.
President Barack Obama: President Obama, the first ever African American President, is the current President of the United States. At the moment he's currently on his second term of presidency. There's a lot to be said about President Obama, but his story as President is not yet over. From what is known at the moment though, we know that he's a president who believes in civil liberties and the safety of the country.

Our handsome, charming, and quite amazing President Barack Obama went to Congress tonight to address those mere politicians, and to speak to the citizens and the world who, I am certain, we will learn turned in by the billions to hear our wonderful President. And he was charming and made terrific points, such as that we will end the war in Iraq, we will close Guantanamo, the U.S. will no longer torture people, that we will reform healthcare and education to help our own citizens, and we will become a better citizen to the world. He even had the Republicans standing up and applauding when they thought that deaf dumb fat guy on the radio might have taken a drug-break from the TV. The TV stations offered to allow the Republicans to have time to respond to our wonderful President Obama's speech. But there was a problem. You see, the Republicans could not find even one Republican politician in Congress to respond on their behalf. It turns out all the Republican politicians in Congress are either under indictment, or under investigation, or have been involved in public sex scandals, or have been stealing money from the public and funneling it to their rich friends for 8 straight years now, and otherwise were completely covered in dirt. So they had to go way far away from Washington D.C. to find a Republican who could speak on TV for the Republican Party. They asked the Governor of Lousiana to do it. Apparently nobody looked at the calendar, and realized the speech would come right in the middle of Mardi Gras. But the Governor was a good sport. He didn't mind being seen in his finest duds. So he came on TV and said a bunch of really stupid things that nobody listened to anyway. I mean he's from Lousiana, the most corrupt state in the nation. He's defending Republicans by saying "Well, look how well we did in Katrina." This guy must have gone to the same school as George W. Bush. Maybe his family was bussed to Texas after some other hurricane drowned his poor neighbors. Lousiana, which I believe is competing with Mississippi for poorest state, worst environmental controls, completely failed schools, cops who are murderers for hire on the side. Lousiana which has sucked millions out of the federal government and the people in this country and taken all that money and put it into the pockets of the rich Republican politicians while their own people sleep in poisoned trailers. Lousiana which hasn't even bothered to pick up all the dead people that drowned during that great Republican triumph known as Katrina. Yeah, good choice. Way to go Bobby.

Live long and prosper via @Barack Obama ~ President Obama & Nichelle Nichols ~ "Uhura" on #StarTrek ... very cool :-)
Star Trek original television series actress Nichelle Nichols (played Lieutenant Uhura on the USS Enterprise) recently visited the White House for Black History Month. She was given a photo opportunity with President Obama and they both posed with their hands firmly giving the Vulcan salute.
Star Trek’s Nichelle Nichols was in D.C., for a visit to NASA’s Goddard Center. She also took a quick stroll by the White House to meet President Obama. Nichols confirmed Obama is “definitely a Trekker,” and the pair gave the Vulcan salute to prove it.

Live Long and Prosper - President Obama and Star Trek’s Uhura Flashing Vulcan Salutes. In the White House.
Obama gives Vulcan salute with Lt. Uhura... President Obama, a fan of the Star Trek television series and movies, has often been compared to Spock, the cool, logical, and emotion-free first officer from the planet Vulcan. So it was only natural that when he received a visit from Nichelle Nichols -- the actress who portrayed Lt. Uhura -- Obama would deliver the Vulcan salute. Nichols tweeted out this picture along with the Vulcan saying: "Live long and prosper."
Barack Obama has boldly gone where no president has gone before. He has given the Vulcan salute in the Oval Office. Actress Nichelle Nichols, who played Lieutenant Uhura on the popular television series "Star Trek," tweeted a photo of herself alongside Obama, flashing the hand signal made famous by the character Mr. Spock. The photo was taken in late February, when Nichols visited the White House and later headed to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. Both Obama and Nichols smile widely in the photo, Obama reaching his arm around the actress' shoulder as they posed in front of his desk. Nichols wore a necklace bearing the show's Starfleet insignia, and captioned the image, "Live Long & Prosper," the words traditionally said after the Vulcan salute. At the time of her visit, Nichols tweeted her excitement about meeting the president. In the past, Obama has revealed that he had a crush on Nichols as a kid, as she was one of the first black women to have a major role on a television series. "I was honored to get a chance to meet with Pres Barack Obama today in the White House. He was as charming and handsome as I had expected," Nichols wrote. “Months ago Pres Obama was quoted as saying that he'd had a crush on me when he was younger. I asked about that & he proudly confirmed it! President Obama also confirmed for me that he was definitely a Trekker! How wonderful is that?!” This is not the first time Obama has expressed his enthusiasm for "Star Trek." In 2010, Leonard Nimoy -- who played Spock -- told reporters, "I do believe that President Obama means it when he says that he is 100 percent interested in space. I know for sure he's a 'Star Trek' fan." He shared that when he met the president, he was also greeted by the iconic salute.
