Baked Potato in a Can Use a tin can such as one from beans or vegetables. Generously butter the outside of the potato, season to taste. Next place the potato in the can and cover with foil. Put the can next to the fire of coals and let it cook for about 30-45 minutes. Do not remove the tin foil, even for a peek! You will have the best baked potato, perfectly cooked. Bacon Potatoes! Gotta try this! Oh wow ... just add some sour cream and maybe a bit of cheddar a few minutes before they are done cooking and voila ... heaven! Of course just the bacon and the potato ... is ALSO heaven. For the bacon loving hubz!!
Slice potato almost but not all the way through. Tuck butter between slices. Bake until tender. Dribble with sour cream. Shower with grated cheese. Bake again until melted and gooey. Lavish with more sour cream and chopped scallion or chili or whatever you please.
