The show was created as a night-time parody of daytime soap operas, presented as a weekly half-hour prime time comedy. Similar to a soap opera, the show's story was presented in a serial format and included melodramatic plot elements such as alien abduction, demonic possession, murder, and kidnapping. In 2007 it was listed as one of Time magazine's "100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME."

I wasn't a huge fan of Gilligan's Island, but anyone who grew up in the 70's definitely remembers it|!
GILLIGAN'S ISLAND (1964 - 1967) | The show followed the comic adventures of seven castaways as they attempted to survive (and, in a later movie, escape from) the island on which they had been shipwrecked. Most episodes revolve around the dissimilar castaways' conflicts and their failed attempts to return home.

All In The Family- 70s -- "All in the Family" is an American sitcom that was originally broadcast on the CBS television network from January 12, 1971, to April 8, 1979. In September 1979, a new show, Archie Bunker's Place, picked up where All in the Family had ended. Theme Song "Those Were The Days"
Debuting as a mid-season replacement series on January 12, 1971, All in the Family became one of the most influential comedies in TV history and made an immediate impact on the entire television industry. The sitcom revolves around blue-collar worker Archie Bunker (played by the beloved Carroll O'Connor) and his family.
All in the Family - My dad found Archie Bunker hilarious. In my teens, I thought Archie was an obnoxious and offensive bigot. Then I started to appreciate the role of satire in life and enjoyed the show.

My dad loved this show, so I have all the seasons on dvd ♥ ~~~~~~One of the top TV shows of the 70s 'Archie & Edith Bunker' with their daughter 'Gloria and son-in-law Michael', best known by Archie as Meathead.
