    This is a great blog about setting up reading comprehension packets to motivate students to love reading through Author Studies.

    I like how students can keep track of genres as well as make goals for themselves.

    Paragraph of the Week. Wow! What a jam-packed QUALITY resource! There's so much that I love about it. The instructions for use are very clear and I'll use the example pages to guide me in knowing what the work might look like. The repetition will serve to firmly reinforce what students are to do so that there is no question on the students' part. Also, the rubric is very explicit so students know what is expected. Pardon my gush, but I love this resource!

    Homework accountability instead of writing note in agenda. Staple this in. Student must get it and staple it. If they don't then there is an additional consequence

    Word of the Day--new word, beyond the vocabulary list from the weekly story. Discussed briefly, added to wall display, and kids keep track of in some sort of journal.

    I did this with my 3rd grade student teaching class and they begged me to switch the letters every Monday!
