The Toronto public library piloted it's Human Library project. You can check out people from diverse backgrounds for a one on one conversation. The goal is to break down prejudice.

Madison, Wisconsin has a number of "Little Free Libraries." Built by homeowners, or private businesses, these libraries allow passers-by to take a book from the collection and also add a book to the collection that might be of interest to another passer-by.

When I graduated from high school, I couldn't go to college, so I went to the library three days a week for 10 years.
