One of the scariest books I've read. It could be because it was the first Stephen King book I read and still remember not being able to sleep without the light on for 2 weeks! I held the book with fingertips ....not sure I should read more...scary!

Any Stephen King Fans out there? If you haven't read any of his books, here's a list that we feel are his “must-reads.”

"Alone. Yes, that's the key word, the most awful word in the English tongue. Murder doesn't hold a candle to it and hell is only a poor synonym."

stephen king: I read The Shining and then I read this...I believed in vampires after reading this...fabulous book...don't read alone..

Stephen King. I will never understand how someone who writes sci-fi horror like he does, sleeps at all.

Stephen King - 'Salem's Lot. The first Stephen King I read as a teenager, and probably my favourite still - I know it's not one of his epics but I have read it over and over.

I really want to read this since it was suggested to me as one of the best King books...if only I could find it at McKays...

One of the few Stephen King books I recommend. It's a creepy depiction of one man's lack of sleep, a unique view on individual energy, and yet remains accessible. Could say more, but don't want to spoil it. Fortunately, I've never experienced what the main character does, despite a fair amount of insomnia myself. :)
