The angle of this photo makes you feel like you are the one getting a gun pointed at you. I like how it doesn't focus on the face, but focuses mostly on the gun to give a dramatic affect.

"The big image of a cigarette-smoking Lawrence Tierney is pure film noir, and anticipates the style of contemporary movie posters, but it’s Claire [Trevor] in the classic femme fatale pose that sells the tickets. "
Born to Kill ("Nascido para Matar", 1947). Film noir. Claire Trevor, Lawrence Tierney, Walter Slezak, Elisha Cook Jr.
Born to Kill is a 1947 film noir starring Lawrence Tierney and directed by Robert Wise. It was the first film noir to be directed by Wise, who later directed The Set-Up (1949), The Captive City (1952), and Odds Against Tomorrow (1959)
Born to Kill. Claire Trevor, Lawrence Tierney, Walter Slezak Phillip Terry, Audrey Long. Directed by Robert Wise. 1947
Born to Kill 1947 American film noir starring Lawrence Tierney directed by Robert Wise also features Claire Trevor, Walter Slezak, and Elisha Cook Jr. Helen Brent (Claire Trevor) has just received a Reno divorce in Nevada. That night, she discovers one of her neighbors, Laury Palmer, and Palmer's gentleman caller both murdered. The killer is Palmer's other boyfriend, Sam Wilde (Lawrence Tierney), an insanely jealous man who won't abide anyone "cutting in" on him.
I’ll have to tally up the performers when all is said and done, but if Claire Trevor doesn't make the most appearances in the countdown I’ll be really surprised. This is probably the best treatment she ever got on a film poster, and that may be partly because the poster itself is so good. The big image of a cigarette-smoking Lawrence Tierney is pure film noir, and anticipates the style of contemporary movie posters, but it’s Claire in the classic femme fatale pose that sells the tickets.
