Many people think of Mexicans when they think of illegal immigration but the majority of the immigrants who come in through the Mexican border are from Central and South America. Colorblindness has become a popular statement that the white privilege use because they mean to say they don't agree with the racism of color. However, to be color blind means you actually don't see color. This also denies ones cultural history such as the sufferings people of their color have faced.
""I don't see race. I'm a good person." Translation: I'm going to use my place of privilege to refute and deny the sufferings of those who do not have white privilege while at the same time erasing their personal and cultural history." They (White people) also cleanse themselves of any connection and/or responsibility regarding slavery and racism. # racism #feminism

"I don't see you" - Colorblind Racism. Race doesn't exist biologically, but it is a social construct that cannot be ignored.
Being "color blind" is an expression of white privilege and systemic racism. #BlackLivesMatter
[click on this image to find an excellent brief video and analysis of colorblind racism] I find it incredibly interesting that people can even say that they are "color blind". In my opinion, even just the idea of being "color blind" is overseeing the uniqueness that every person has. A person's race is a part of who they are, the culture behind their race determined, perhaps, where and how they were raised. And if not they themselves, then their parents or grandparents, or ancestors.
"Colorblind" is a term white people use to try and excuse their white privilege.
