Dexter Scott King: son of Martin Luther King, Jr. and dedicated vegan and animal rights activist since the 1980s. He once said he's vegan because "If you're violent to yourself by putting [harmful] things into your body that violate its spirit, it will be difficult not to perpetuate that [violence] onto someone else". John Tyler (1790 –1862) was the tenth President of the United States (1841–1845). He was elected vice president on the Whig ticket with William Henry Harrison and became president upon Harrison's death 1841. Tyler supported nationalist policies as long as they did not infringe on the rights of the states. A firm believer in manifest destiny, Tyler supported the annexation of the Republic of Texas in his last days in office.
