Last school year, I made drastic changes in my classroom management system. Due to a schoolwide initiative, my behavior “clip chart” system ended, and in turn, school rules were replaced with a language that promoted growth mindset. I was determined to epitomize this with my students and end hearing
self assessment ~ let the kids have some responsibility in self evaluation prior to conferences. Should be a space to write a note to parents on what they can expect to see improved. That is accountability.
Perfect for those days when you have 7 minutes left at the end of the period - quick, easy, fun, can be used for all levels, and easy to do in the target language. Would be great with a Smart Board, but will work without one too.
I use these Whole Brain Teaching attention getters on a daily basis with my ELL students. These attention getters are a great way to improve your classroom management. I usually pick one or two to teach the class at the beginning of the year. Then every month or every few weeks, I introduce a new attention getter, which my students can't wait for!!
