I work with old books like these every day. I especially like what you sometimes find inside old books: love notes in fading calligraphy, a dainty piece of lace that must have been a bookmark and, best of all, a perfectly pressed leaf or flower from some faraway time and place.

I had no idea this cover was by Edward Gorey - had to read this for Trads I, permanently scarred by some of the puritan sermons therein.
