I've seen expensive storage pieces like these in daycare/school rooms. This is a DIY version: coffee table storage space from Ikea boxes - toy storage. Instructions are all in a Scandinavian language, so translation may be needed, but the photos very helpful.

Two small bookshelves plus a thick board (painted white). I'd like to use narrow bookshelves and add casters to the bottom so i can roll it to the living room etc. Between the bookshelves on one side I'd like to hang dowels to hold wrapping paper tubes and ribbons etc. get double use out of some items
"Quaint and Quirky" photostream The Cubes are from Michaels craft store. They are intended to be scrapbooking organizers, but we found that if you stack them together, they are the perfect size for a table. The top is a door which ended up being the perfect size.
