Remember, Late 1960S, Green Stamps, Mother, Queen, 70S, Book, Memories
This minty vintage specimen was discovered and photographed by Bravo Six Niner Delta in March 2011. The stamps are from the late 1960s and were found in in Englewood, Tennessee. I remember my mama getting these at the grocery store & pasting them in a little book.
Sperry & Hutchinson Stamps - S&H Green stamps - double stamps if you shopped at Mick or Mack on Tuesday. I had 30 books to spend on household items when we got married b/c I grocery shopped for Mom. Early '70s.
S&H Green Stamps. O how I loved getting, saving, licking and sticking them. I got my first basketball with a book. Memories~
I remember these well my mother was the queen of the green stamp. She'd collect & cram them in a pretty painted tin that sealed tight then every once in a while would take out the books and stick the stamps in them. It was so exciting going to the store to redeem them. I wish I had photos of this whole process. Oh to have only have had Instagram back in the 70's.
