Lobelia has a cascading effect and is beautiful as a ground cover, rock wall or hanging basket. The plants bloom abundantly, creating a profusion of color wherever planted. Lobelia Erinus (trailing lobelia) is usually grown as an annual because it is tender and grows fast, but is actually a perennial in zones 10 and up. It can also be overwintered in hanging baskets.
