Dr. Leonardo Conti, SS-Gruppenführer and Reich Health Leader (Reichsgesundheitsführer) examines a group of children. He was responsible for the "mercy killing" of hundreds of Germans of "unsound mind." While in prison and awaiting trial for war crimes associated with the Nazi Euthanasia program (T4), Conti hanged himself in his cell on Oct 6, 1945.
