ELEPHANT FACT: Elephants hug each other by wrapping their trunks together as a greeting or signs of affection. Do you part and help stop poaching so that we can continue to enjoy seeing these calves over and over again.
The elephant's gestation period is 22 months, the longest of any land animal. The gestation period for an African elephant averages 640 days; for the Asian elephant it is 645 days. The mother gives birth to a calf that weighs up to 115 kg and stands over 75 cm tall.
If you’re a mom, you will definitely relate to this! Isn’t it a true fact that children decide to get rowdy just when you are ready for that much needed nap? Well, this momma elephant knows the struggle. Watch and delight yourself as this playful baby elephant just won’t let mommy rest!
Elephants are awesome!!! They travel in groups and look to the oldest female for everything. They have horrible eye sight and they are terribly protective of their young. I can understand why since they have an extremely long pregnancy.
