DIY Vintage Wood Stain: Mason jar: 1/4 cup used grounds, fill it up almost to the top with vinegar, approx 3-4 cups of vinegar to 1/4 cup grounds. It is the interaction between the steel wool and vinegar that is really important, grounds just add a brown tinge. Can use tea (strong), white vinegar goes brown, apple cider grey-ish, balsamic greenish. Search "ebonizing wood" steel wool & vinegar

Who came up with this? Amazing!

How to transfer photos onto wood - it doesn't specify but you may have to use a laser printed picture like you do when transferring to canvas.

Palet /reclaimed wood picture. Just shows you what you can do with a bit of ingenuity, patience & a splash of color here & there. Some very good pieces of work at this etsy shop, well worth a look. I liked the small side table in the "tree of Life" shot although that isn't actually on sale. But the other things are good too, great inspiration for using up all those scrap bits ;)

I like the idea of the wood like fence. You could have one pannel for every child in your classroom and then use it as a growth chart for toddlers. When the child moves up or leaves the centre you can give it to the parents. Use Pallet wood.
