Games are a fact of life; perhaps the meaning of life; and perhaps they're bigger than that. I'm curious. My son tells stories of friends who've learned the history of the world by playing the past against itself in games. My question is about the process and the results, and whether the purpose suits them. Perhaps that should be phrased the other way around. Miraculous things can happen within the shared space of a game; but is that the same thing as learning to cross a street successfully?
