Wrangle your quilt sandwich with less struggle. Get three long cuts of pipe insulation at your home improvement store. Just pin the fabric on at one end, roll each layer smoothly, and stack as shown. Then sit [or stand] at the table to baste.

Folded pinwheel Barb Ossana Sanders~these are sew easy to make. Cut 4 squares of background and same size of pinwheel fabrics. Fold pinwheel fabric in half diagonally (wrong sides together). Put in corner of background block and fold right corner over to left corner at top. Put all your left corners in center of block. Stitch background blocks together like a 4 patch. Used this as a border for a baby quilt. Kind of bulky in the center, but cute and fun to do.

Sew-in-Style! Say good-bye to all of those tiny bits of thread and cuttings on the sewing room floor!. This Thread Catcher is my own design, made to best suit the needs of one who sews. This version has evolved along the way, with each modification being prettier and more practical than the last. Can it get any better? Maybe... We'll see. This one of a kind little beauty sits perfectly poised to the right or left of the sewing machine, ready to receive threads, cuttings and clippings. A satisfied customer who has purchased one of my thread catchers from my Etsy shop recently wrote, "My thread catcher arrived yesterday and I just love it. I could have made one for myself but what a treat to purchase such a gorgeous one. Thanks so much." Another satisfied buyer wrote "I just received my thread catcher in the mail and I love it! It is so cute, very, very well-made and will make my sewing life so much more pleasant. Impeccably made, absolutely adorable, quick shipping - this is what Etsy's all about!" The Thread Catcher, sometimes called a Scrap Catcher, features a detachable pincushion for those times when you need pins, but not the thread receptacle. For instance, I like to detach the pincushion to take to the ironing board. I chose yummy fabrics from Moda's "Marmalade" line by Bonnie and Camille. The outer bag is an aqua blue floral print featuring shades of red, pink and green. The inner bag is made of a coordinating green and print. The scrappy-look pieced circular pincushion is 6 inches across and stands 2 inches tall. It is attached to the base with Velcro and is filled with crushed walnut shells for weight and stability. A sweet red print yo-yo sits atop the pincushion and is finished with a red vintage button from my collection. The weighted base of the pincushion is a fabric covered ceramic tile with non-skid rug backing applied to the underside fabric, allowing the tile to sit firmly on the table surface. The boxed bottom bag has boning sewn inside the upper edge to keep the bag open. It features a contrasting red and white striped trim strip where the cuff meets the bag, which measures 5 3/4 inches tall and is 5 1/2 inches across. Finished seams inside of the bag make for easy emptying of scraps and threads. The bag also features a scissors tab for keeping your scissors at the ready. Scissors not included, of course. All fabrics are 100% quilters quality cotton. The Thread Catcher is portable and travels nicely to classes and workshops. I even take mine with me in the car when doing handwork on the road. I take the pincushion off and slip the tile into the opening in the arm rest. This would make a perfect gift for the sewer, quilter or even a scrap booking enthusiast. Created in a non-smoking home.
