Brenda Starr comic strip - being named Brenda I always loved this comic strip!!

( Tribune file photo ) A famous recurring character from the Brenda Starr comic strip was Basil, described by the Tribune as "Brenda's one true love," who is "tall, dark and handsome and sports an eye patch. Other distinguishing features include a mysterious illness curable only by a black orchid serum and a penchant for disappearing out of Brenda's life." Here, Brenda Starr and Basil are pictured on May 2, 1976.
