Home Made Dishwasher Detergent 2 c borax 2 c Arm & Hammer washing soda 2 c lemi shine* 1 c kosher salt Note from Pinner - this really does get the white film off water glasses. According to one pinner: Holy Cow!!! This stuff is AWESOME!!! I only made 1/2 as much (I didn't have as much lemonade as I thought, oops). I will not be buying dishwasher soap ever again!!!! My tupperware looks brand new again!

This works great, I used the citric acid in my mix because i dont use any artificial ingredients. I found it at Wally Mart by the canning supplies for $2.95. I did add some Organic white vinegar to the rinse dispenser to help with some of the spots. I am pinning to save $$ because she has SO many great ideas on how to save you money but also clean your house green! GREAT BLOG!

Homemade Dishwasher Detergent recipe that ACTUALLY works. No borax, just 3 cents per load. So easy and quick to make.

borax-free dishwasher detergent: 4parts washing soda, 1 part citric acid, 1 part salt. Add lemon vinegar as the rinse agent or mix a small amount with the powder and press into ice cube trays to dry into pucks

The best homemade dishwasher detergent. I use it all the time now.

Dishwasher Soap: I used LemiShine instead of citric acid. Makes 3c, stores fine in a quart jar. Note: use plenty of vinegar in that rinse aid spot!! Not enough and it doesn't do nearly as well.

Homemade Dishwasher Soap - so far I love it! I used vinegar in the jet dry dispenser, too, and my glasses are the cleanest they've been since we got them. 4/4/13 update - add 1/4c salt to the recipe to help with spots
