Maggi Hambling. Our Colorboard this week was inspired by a STUNNING piece of art. We can see pulling carmel color out in natural wood tones, the main accent colors in navy and grey, and beautiful pops of teal and oxide yellow. Beautiful for a living space or perhaps a master suite, don't you think? #colorpalette
"Oil paintings of waves by Maggi Hambling: 'Early each morning I go down to the sea and try to capture its mood by drawing, and each day is different. Back in the studio, these drawings become paintings. Whether they are tiny or cover the studio wall, I try to make the movement of the waves happen in the paint.'"

It’s evolved into an ongoing project in the study of plant design, exploration of color theory, and pure, unadulterated food-love. Let’s be real–I like to play with my food."

The simple color hues and express of the little girl is what really brings this artwork out, the artist captured a very realistic facial express, the color of her eyes and mouth.

Louvre, Paris, #France - The Winged Victory of Samothrace, also called the Nike of Samothrace, is a 2nd century BC marble sculpture of the Greek goddess Nike (Victory). Since 1884, it has been prominently displayed at the Louvre and is one of the most celebrated sculptures in the world. ~ I saw this when I was there
This is my favourite sculpture ever. It is the Winged Victory of Samothrace. It’s from the second century BCE, and it represents the Greek god of victory, Nike. It was made to commemorate a successful sea battle in Samothrace, and it actually did have a head once upon a time. Housed in the Louvre, Paris

"As far as I can remember I have always drawn… but on paper. I studied archeology and history of arts, then I went to a game design school (for 2 years), which just was not my thing. I discovered Photoshop in 2005, since then I have became addicted to it. All subjects are interest, they just have to talk to me, but fantasy and dreamy subjects are my favorites." Antwerpen-Centraal (Antwerp Central) - railway station in the Belgian city of Antwerp, between 1895 and 1905, Louis Delacenserie, Clement van Bogaert. The viaduct into the station is also a notable structure designed by local architect Jan Van Asperen.
The train station in Antwerp is amazing!- went through there every week for 3 years and don't know if I took the time to appreciate its beauty the way I do now.
