You glimpsed him on the big screen in “Marvel’s The Avengers,” he nearly destroyed Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers Assemble, and he’s been at the center of Marvel’s most cataclysmic cosmic events. Now see how it all started for the Mad Titan in Thanos Rising, beginning in April! The full details are here!
Thanos was subject to the Deviant gene at birth. As a result, Thanos became like that of a 'mutant' of Titan (the sixth moon of Saturn) where he developed a purple, hide-like skin which allowed him to absorb cosmic energy at an atomic level, then manipulate it into kinetic force by conscious choice. Along with strength and other physical abilities making him the most powerful Titan. The mutation also augmented the powers he possessed as a descendant of the Eternals.
Thanos is a fictional character, a supervillan in the Marvel Comic universe. Created by Jim Starlin, he first appeared in Iron Man #55 in 1973. One of the last sons of A'Lars, progenitor of the second colony of Eternals on Titan, and Sui-San, the last survivor of the original settlement of Eternals on Titan. Born with grey, hide-like skin and a massive body due to being born with the Deviant Syndrome, Thanos was a morose child who became obsessed with the concept of death. Through bionic implementation and long hours of meditation, Thanos augmented his Eternal strengths and powers so that his abilities surpassed those of all other Titanian Eternals. As he grew in power, Thanos also grew in ambition and desire for conquest setting his sights on Earth. Thanos was ranked number 47th in IGN's top 100 comic book villains of all time.
