Shape, color, line, pattern. Non objective art based on Reggie Laurent: glue colored organic and geometric shapes onto black background, add lines, shapes and patterns with oil pastel, finish with one long continuous white line to unify it.
Line and Pattern- This lesson first had kindergarten students focus on horizontal, vertical and diagonal line designs. Then the students used their new knowledge about shape and pattern to create some beautiful abstract designs
Fifth grade students drew organic shapes in three sizes. Inside each shape, they used a variety of line designs and then painted each shape with a set of five analogous colors. Shapes were cut out and mounted with spacers to create relief sculptures.
