John F. Kennedy, 20 years old, during his tour of Europe in the summer of 1937.  In his arms is “Dunker” the dachshund.  Photo taken in The Hague, August 1937.

A young JFK, on a tour of Europe just before the outbreak of war, where he bought "a dachshund of great beauty" in Germany. The dog became a mascot on the journey. We aren't aware that JFK had dachshunds while President however. SO AWESOME!

Kennedy swept the entire Northeastern United States, with the exception of the 3 Upper New England states, although he was much stronger in New Hampshire and the result was much closer than in neighboring Vermont and Maine. Kennedy's most substantial victory was in heavily populated Hillsborough County, home to Manchester and Nashua, which he won by a decisive 58-42 margin.

Sally Field

Sally Field c. At the end of an episode of "The Flying Nun" Sally wrote into her journal, "Dear Diary, sank into nothing." I'm not to sure what that meant but I have said it to myself a few sad times.
