Arsenic and Old Lace. 1944. Edward Everett Horton (born 1886), as Mr. Witherspoon; Jean Adair (born 1873) as Martha Brewster; Josephine Hull (born 1877) (née Sherwood) as her sister, Abby Brewster. These two actresses had been playing their characters on stage. They received permission to be off for 8 weeks to make the film.  The movie was actually filmed in 8 weeks.
