Find old bookshelves at garage sales. Take an old bookshelf, bead board on the back, and add a piece of molding...paint it the color you prefer and you have a new, updated bookshelf.

Take an old (or new $15 from WalMart) bookshelf, put bead board on the back, and add a piece of molding...paint it the color you prefer and you have a new, updated bookshelf. Great for a kid's room. I also like the monogram on the wall.

Something like this color scheme for the boys room...Gray walls (leftover bedroom paint) with red and light aqua accents, and maybe some small splashes of yellow.

Ok this has soo much potential. You want to incorporate Middle Earth into that theme? This is a way we could do it. Middle earth maps as the backdrop of bookshelves. Easy to do. Or you could pull together any Tolkien text or quotes and we could type it up in a LOTR font, print it and mod podge it into the backdrop. Maybe stain the paper or print it on special paper.

Alternate between books and accessories on shelves to keep them from looking too cluttered.
