My grandma taught me this many years ago. Refreshing towels I use this trick all the time since I noticed my towels smelling funky. It works! - Over time, towels build up detergent and fabric softener, leaving them unable to absorb as much water and smelly. Recharge them by washing them once with hot water and 1cup vinegar, then a 2nd time with hot water and half cup baking soda. This strips the residue and leaves them fresh and able to absorb more water again. Works like a charm!
There are some nasty little rust stains on them from letting the dry in the dishwasher. I was looking at Buzzfeed, and came across an amazingly simple and inexpensive way to remove them, with little effort on your part! See tutorial ----> http://www.discountqueens.com/diy-rust-stain-removal/
No more greasy cabinets! Here are a few different solutions that can help you get your kitchen cabinets squeaky clean: http://www.ehow.com/how_4778378_clean-grease-kitchen-cabinet-doors.html?utm_source=pinterest&utm_medium=fanpage&utm_content=inline
1/4 cup white vinegar 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap (Blue Dawn is a miracle in a bottle-I wouldn’t use anything else!) 1/4 cup washing soda (this can be found in the laundry aisle of the grocery store, but I used regular soda) 2 gallons tap water, very warm 1. Place all the ingredients into a bucket and mix well until sudsy. 2. Mop the area with the solution.
The baking soda and hot water treatment will loosen up any grimy sludge that’s hanging out at the bottom of your drain, and the explosive chemical reaction with the vinegar will jolt it all loose. Then one final super hot-water rinse will make all the bad stuff go bye-bye.
Home Made Daily Shower Spray: 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide, 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol, 2 teaspoons Dawn Dishwashing Detergent, 2 teaspoons Jet Dry, 1 1/2 cups water (other recipes use up to 3 cups water), 3 drops tea tree oil. Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle and shake. Spray this daily after your shower to make your general shower cleaning a breeze.
