Calling all adopted parents! There's no doubt, we have had some fabulous Happy Tails over the years. Now let's share them for a chance to win a grant for the rescues!

It's never easy to say goodbye to the dogs we've loved ... even after we've said goodbye once before. Octavia may have moved almost 350 miles away from us last year, but we she always remained--and will remain--a part of our rescue family.

We never like these updates, but, unfortunately, it is a part of rescue and, inevitably, the cycle of life as we know it. We have confirmed what we knew to be a possibility when Roxy first arrived from the kill shelter in June: She may not have long with us. We couldn’t understand how anyone could give up this precious 9-year-old girl, who is just about as sweet as she can be. Her neverending cough and thorough vetting, of course, told us why.

We are excited to kick off our first Yankee Candle Fundraising campaign! Fall is right around the corner and so are the enticing scents of pumpkin, apples, cookies and cedar. Yum! Enjoy everything indoors that autumn has to offer with tons of fabulous Yankee items - everything from candles and warmers, to tea and popcorn!

It was literally the “dog days of summer” with several of our rescues finding new homes … and Pippa finding her truly-forever one at the Rainbow Bridge.

What do rescues do when we’re not saving lives, making vet runs and scooping poop? Raising funds, creating awareness and streamlining operations … so we can keep saving lives, making vet runs and scooping poop! That’s what July was all about.

June was a Terrier of a month the featured our annual fundraiser, an awesome adoption and the ongoing circle of life.

May was a month of festivals, festivals and more festivals ... oh, and yeah ... Rocket went home!!

The Year in Review continues with April - a spring vol day to be remembered forever! Go, Octavia, go!

2014 kicked off on a busy note with regular activities (fundraising and volunteering), as well as some fun stuff (barn hunting classes). Hannah took some big steps, while Ossa learned to step again. And Isabella finally got the gift she had been waiting for, for months.

There are two things you should know about this video … 1) This is Kennedy, getting used to his new wheelchair … and … 2) this is Kennedy, getting used to his new wheelchair after having had surgery yesterday to have six teeth extracted … We’d say he’s doing alllll right. ;) And it’s all because of you!

“We’ve got sunshine … on a cloudy day … When it’s cold outside, we’ve got the month of May …” Rain, schmain! It didn’t stop any of us from heading out Saturday morning and enjoying the day at Whole Foods Market Buckhead.
