A dramatic sky at sunset in Stockholm, Sweden. Interesting light and colors in the clouds as well as in their reflection in the water. A sky like this cannot be explained simply by one of Minnaert's observations-- it is a combination of many factors. Stockholm, Sweden The “City That Floats On Water” is built on 14 islands, where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. By ship, Stockholm is approached through an archipelago of 30,000 islands and skerries, fishing villages, thousands of sailing boats and quaint red summer cottages.
'Aqua Blue', a driftwood sailing boat, inspired by the shape of a piece found on Sweden's Baltic coast. Named for the colour of the water from whence she came. A beautiful piece of wood, lighter than air; crackled, cracked and shaped by the waves. The knots have been eroded and smoothed. The sturdy fabric of her sails is warmly rustic with vibrant silver/turquoise velveteen spots. She sails dreamily on clear starlit nights when waters are calm and bright and the milky way wheels overhead.
