German Wehrmacht soldiers of the 2nd Battalion, 137th Regiment of the 2nd Division wait on the streets of occupied Denmark before being deployed to Norway. Frederikshavn, North Denmark Region, Jutland, Denmark. May 1940.
Pvt Herbert Norman, 194th Regiment, 17th Airborne Division, is obviously amused with his catch, a batch of teenage German army soldiers happy to be captured and looking inquiringly at their smiling captor. Norman is armed with an M3 SMG known as the "grease gun" in GI parlance. Location is Muenster, Germany on April 19,1945 (11 days before Hitler shot himself).
