This picture is pretty well-known in Red Cross world, but it is very personal to me. The event is Katrina and the volunteer you only see the back of is Bob Gordon. Bob was the first volunteer that gave me a hug, he taught me what an ERV is, and no matter how stressful my Red Cross day was... he always reminded me to smile. We lost Bob a year ago, but I carry his simple lessons with me still.
