The large dining room at Mt. Vernon pools together many of the most fashionable elements from 18th Century decor, including the bright blue/green paint, which was exceedingly expensive at the time, the Palladian window,and beautiful plasterwork.  This dining room was meant to be a showcase for entertaining that impressed, fit for a president, and it definitely served that purpose well.  Mt. Vernon, VA
